International Monetary Fund Undergraduate Students Challenge is currently holding the 2022 challenge.
The IMF Office of Innovation and Change works with the AFR (African department of the IMF), APD (Asia and Pacific Department), Institute for Capacity Development, and the Middle East and Central Asia Department (MCD) to conduct the event.
It aims to showcase the best talents from this challenge, allowing participants to collaborate in small groups. Also, the participants must be economics students who also meet the prequalification requisites.
The opportunity is available in French and English, although the same criteria apply in every case. All of the one hundred ninety (190) IMF members are eligible for the challenge, provided that they meet all the criteria.
IMF aims to foster innovation and fiscal growth and sustenance in its member countries, reconciling policies with on-ground economic conditions for these places. In the long run, the organization will have created multiple job avenues and a monetary backbone through the challenge.
What You Should Know
There is no weighting factor for different applicants. So, the process is transparent and open to every qualified student.
Besides the benefits, participants get to present virtually at the IMF 2022 annual meeting in October 2022.
Also, you can opt for two channels to this opportunity _ Innovation at the IMF and 2022 Fund Challenge Registration.
All applications must be ready on or before June 1, 2022. If you want additional information about the application and terms of the IMF challenge, you can contact IMF-FundChallenge@@imf.org.

International Monetary Fund Undergraduate Students Challenge 2022
The ongoing International Monetary Fund Challenge for Undergraduates is part of the IMF’s effort to build cooperation among its member countries, drafting policies that will accommodate the shared objectives and goals of the organization.
It requires all students applying for the 2022 challenge to meet these eligibility criteria _
Register (and complete) ICD’s Macroeconomics Diagnostics course (MDSx) online from June 6 to September 2, 2022. Team members can complete their session with edx without exchanging or soliciting details from other team members. The 6-8 hour per week course will be available on June 2, and upon completion, confer a verified edx certificate (purchased) on the participants.
The student must be taking an undergraduate degree program in economics currently. Preferably, this includes a class of 2022 economics curricula in the appropriate MCD, AFR, and APD country.
Team make-up must be two students from the same tertiary institution, with one faculty member for reference.
Further, the Institute for Capacity Development (ICD) will draft a fresh theme for the qualified teams to analyze, which involves identifying and solving an intricate problem in the tasks.
Apart from the MDSx courses and ICD thematic task (which must always be in English), other works can be written in either English or French. The official IMF website recommends using MS PowerPoint, but the participant can use other options.
